Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 can 15 oz refried beans
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Sour cream and salsa for topping
Instructions:
In a bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt
Gradually add warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms
Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth, then let it rest for 15 minutes
Divide the dough into golf ball-sized portions and roll each into a flat disc
Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat for frying
Fry each dough disc until golden brown on both sides, then drain on paper towels
In a separate pan, heat the refried beans
Spread beans over the fry bread, then top with cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro
Add dollops of sour cream and salsa on top
Serve immediately and enjoy the indulgent goodness!
